Overlooking the Rhône and Valloire valleys, Albon is a medieval site over ten centuries old. Built for two reasons, military and residential, it was a sign of the Lord's power and authority. This is where Guigues le Vieux, Count of Albon, founded,  nearly 1000 years ago, the "Etat du Dauphiné".
